High light for the year!

My high light for this year was hanging out with my friend and learning new stuff in class. This year was a fun year of play,learning and becoming older and better year 7.My life has change from my wonderful teacher named Ms Tito.She is going to Wellington and I am going to miss her badly.

I love working and learning stuff because our teacher miss Tito,she turned boring stuff in to fun and exciting stuff. I am so thankful that she was my teacher.

Everyday this year was fun and it was the best year of my life.I can't wait for next year!

Becoming a school leader!

What does it means to be a school leader? This year our year 8 are going to leave and that when we step up to became leaders of the school. Becoming a leader is to look after the school and do responsible thing that will make the school proud and happy.School leader are hard working year 8, men and woman that will help the school to become a role model to other school.

Who is someone in the year 8 that has been a good role model?It would be Charm because he is funny and is good with people.He is good at sport and he was a good prefect.

Who would make a great leader for next year?It would be hard to choose but it would be Joe because he has been a good student and he is very very mature .

The thing I world want to achieve next year when I am a year 8 is everything because I want to prove that I be a great leader.

Tagata Pasifica

Guess what!Today in our class we were going to be on TV.The show was called Tagata Pacific , You might of heard of it.It was so cool getting interview on TV.The reason why they were here is they wanted to film some barged .

They interview some of our student about what they were making and how it would be better to make something by hand than just buying it for some one,they answer different answers.

When they came towards me I though are they going to interview me but they were interviewing Tui right next to me.

It was great knowing that we were going to be on TV,I wish they could come another time.

Netbook reflection!!!!

This year was a fantastic year. It was so cool because of our new net books.

It has really heleped us with our learning and the thing I like about our net book is we dont have to write with our pencil.This year my writing, math and reading is gone really high,higher than last years.

It was great but the thing I dont like about our net book is that my internet always goes off.

The other thing I like about our net book is that we get to take it home and also at home we have internet.This new technology is really helped us to learn more about our other topic for school.I really enjoyed writing, reading,playing and learing on my net book.

Guy Fawkes day!

What I learnt from Guy Fawkes is that the other name for firework is Bonfire and it's was made in china over 2000 year ago,It is used for special event like Wedding,Births,religion festival and sometime to scare off evil spirits.Some rules when you buy a firework is that you have to be 14 and over to be sold a firework.Did you now that Guy Fawkes day or Bonfire day was a traditional recognized on the 5th of November each year in Great Britain,New Zealand and other British Commonwealth countries.This year firework was the best firework day ever.

Halloween!!!

Man! this Halloween was my worst Halloween night of my life. Last year was the funniest Halloween because when I knocked on a strangers door and said trick a treat and he said" sorry we out of candy would you like a banana " and I said yes . When I got home we were just laughing to death so I didn't go their anymore. The reason why this year was a bit boring it,it was because I never went, it kind of not my thing.

My last week of school this term !!!!

"Fe www"! This has been one of the hardest and most tiring weeks ever for our students and teachers. This week everyone at school has been very busy, people have been rushing around in circle while getting ready for a wonderful school production called Wedzidazical .We were pushed around in to different class's because our class were used.

This week is the sad week too because this week is our final week of this term, witch means's bye school. I really enjoyed having fun this week because we get to play out door game and get to see a our school production.

I can't wait to see what we are going to do next term!

The end of Samoa's chance of wining the RWC

A team so strong that this team were like brothers . Defending and tackling and kicking and trying there way to victory . But suddenly they had to play South Africa, the team that is fearless and strong,so powerful they could win the whole Rugby World Cup 2011. This match was between Samoa and South Africa .It was pretty hard but South Africa scored the first try of the match.But then Samoa came out and made the big hits.This match was amazing . In the second half Samoa was introduce to the red card.Then the yellow card was introduce to South Africa.It was pretty funny but it was still serious because both team were play with 14 play in the 70 min.In full time it was 13-5.It was very sad that Samoa lost.

Funday Friday !!!!

Just last week on Friday our class room 22 and room 19 had a blast doing jump jam and dance off in the hall. It was awesome and amazing in the hall because it felt like we were having a party in our school.Soon we had to came up with our own move to go with a jah rastafari song and who ever has the best dance move will be shouted with hot chips!!Doing jump jam pumped all of us up then the dance off just blow our mine away.As soon as every one was dancing crazy we had to stop and play a fun game of musical freeze.After that fun time in the hall we hearded back to class to carry on with our work.

Math whizz rocks!

In our class we have been using a cool math game that will help us on our math .The math technique I am working in is rounding up decimals.

The Rugby World Cup ....

Do you know I'm a Samoan but I support the Japan and also all of the country's in the Rugby World Cup , Is that weird no!. I just can’t believe that Japan lost against France . It just isn't right I wish I had a time machine so I can go back and make Japan win. Japan is my best team and who ever monks them watch out because Japan is going to win,yea!Go Japan !!!!!!!. I can’t wait till Japan plays France because it pay back time.

Blackout Day

Today at school we a supporting the All Black by having a Blackout day witch we we had to came in all black. Here are some pictures.

Our school champion

For a whole week our boys were in Tauranga to compete in the AIM Rugby Sevens tournament. It was a battle. The other teams felt our team was very challenging, so it was hard for them to beat us. Soon everyone at school heard that our boys were winning every game . Everyone was very proud of them.

Pt England won 50-0 in their first game against Cambridge school . In their next game against Whangarei Intermediate school our boys won 22-7 . After Monday , Tuesday and Wednesday our school won all their games and went into the final to play Royal Oak. After the tournament they sent back messages telling us they won the whole tournament and will be coming back with the cup having thrashed their opponent 26-5 .

That week our school was buzzing with joy and beaming with pride. Our boys had become champions .We hope that we will carry on the spirit of this very exciting week .We will never forget it.Go boys!!!!!!

Team 5 challenge

Who was there you might be asking, well our whole year seven and eight was there having a blast on Tuesday the 23 th of August 2011 at the bottom feirld .


Our first activity was sling shot ball. We had to slingshot a dodge ball and try make it land on a hoop and each time you get it in a hoop your class will get fifty point and the class who has the most point get to play water balloon fight.It was kind of hard because the ball always rolls out of the hoop but at the end we got two balls in so that make 100 point.Yeeeeeeaaaaaaaaa!

Moving on to our next fun activity witch we had to tie up our leg with another person leg and try get to the other side with a tennis ball on a spoon .It’s tricky but the other’s got back really fast.Then the first second and third had to race to see who is the chapion of our class at the activity and it was Amos and Beni and they will be playing the winners from the others class.

In the pass a great rugby player came out of the sadow and shine and made his whole life better. This rugby legen was going though problem like sickness,cousin getting killed in a brawl and so on.His name is Jonah Lomu and he was born in New Zealand in Auckland in May 12 1975.One day he got sent back to Tonga and was told to learn about his culture.When he was nine he really shot up. He was so tall he couldn’t fit in the car with the rest of the family so he had to run at the back of the car every time they had to going to church.After five years Jonah Lomu was sent back to South Auckland and went to Wesley College at Pukekohe.When he was nineteen he was selected from the All Black to play France.He only played two games on the wing but he had bad memories of the second game in Auckland.Soon every time Jonah Lomu plays a game he would be very exhausted.In 1996, he played against the Barbarians and England ,and after the match ,he had to lie in bed for three days.Then one day he was told that he had a serious liver disease.

About our netbook

In our whole senior block we have a amazing thing called a net book. WE have been using our net book for a long time and it is a lot of fun going on it and doing lots of cool stuff.Every time we going on our net book we get to do cool stuff like searching the web, doing our work on the Internet or playing games. The reason why we love our net book is that we don't have to use our writing books and write. Net book in our school is very fun and it is good for our learning and we love it.

My high light of the term.

My high light of this term was doing lots of fun activity in my class and play with my friends and doing the right thing. The thing I am mostly proud of was my prototype and my writing because my prototype was finish prefectly and I am getting better at writing.I can't wait till next term !

Design prosecc 2011

In our class we have been identifying a need in our school and it was our year 7 and 8 not respecting the street. We needed to get some furniture so we can have a fun place for our year 7 and 8 so they can relax and enjoy their learning time.


The key stake holder in our school are our year seven and eight student in the senior block . We have been researching ideas to make funky looking furniture and finding out the attribute about them.

Our class has been getting some ideas from pictures and modifying them as our own ideas to make fun looking furniture for our street. We had to find out if our design were practical to make like if we had the resources and many more.

My prototype was a easy to make and a lots of fun to put together . It was a little bite hard but I got though it and made a cool prototype.

rugby League session

Yesterday morning at 10 am our class room 22 went to the court to get some rugby league session with one of the 2011 vodafone junior warriors squad named Sio Siua Taukeiaho.



When we got there Sio Siua Taukeiaho put us in to four separated groups to play against each other. Then we moved on to our first skill of the day and it was zig zag . I had to demonstrate how to do it by running around 8 corns. Then we had a competition and that competition was the whole team had to zig zag around the corn but one at a time and who ever group comes last they had to do 5 push up and did you now who come last, it was us.



Our second skill of the day was the the people zig zag but this zig zag was a little bit different to the other one . This zig zag you had to run around the people in your team as fast as you can holding a ball and when you get back to the front you have to score a try and the first team to get three point or try wins and the losing team had to push up 5 time again.So we tried not to lose and I was the first one in my team to run but then I got beaten so the other team got one point.At the end of the game we loses again but it wasn’t fear because the other team had 7 and we had 8 but we didn't care.


Our last skill of the day was the kicking game . We had to kick the ball over their neck but like volleyball and try make them fall the ball or bounce it near a person on the other side .When the game started I was fully ready to hide but then I caught a ball and got some people out until they got me out . Then we had two more game and we won the second game then it was the last game of the day we tried so hard to win but we lost but we didn't need to do push up so it was ccol.





It was super fun and cool and I can wait to do it again , if they do again.

Science Road Show .

England school.Soon we went on to our eyes and they told us about a President On Thursday the 9th of June our year seven and eight walked down to the Tamaki College to see the Science road show to learn more about our topic Bigger,Better,Faster and Stronger.

When we got their I saw lots of cool invention like the piano, metal detector and the skeletons.The first invention we went to was the levers because we had to get information from it.After that Paul and Jane that was running the show did a competition to win a cool prize which was 3d glass and a 3d picture.

Soon we had to leave the invention and sit because we were going to learn about our senses like the sight,smell,feel,taste and the hearing.Then they told us that our ears can get tricked from sound.So they show a mystery sound and it sounded like camera but it was a bird.After that Paul was going to say the winner and it Angler from Tamaki College and Awhina from P.t that was colour blind.Soon we moved on to taste and Paul needed a Valenti and I was the first to put my hand so they choose me.Then they gave me a mystery food which was caret and celery but I did’nt know that because I was blinded from a dark glass.Soon we had to go back to school and get ready for play time .

Swimming at the Y.M.C.A pool

Swimming Lesson

In the last 2 week at 2 pm, our year 7 and 8 were swimming at the Y.M.C.A pool at G.I so we now what to do when we are lost in the deep blue sea. Our teacher was Ms Tito and Ms Demster and they were teaching us to swim.Our first swimming lesson with Ms Tito was the free style but in a different way . We had to relax our wrist and slide it across the water and our elbow had to come out first .After that we had to swim all the to the end of the pool because we had to see if we now how to do the funny free style.Soon we had to go back to school because our school was going to finish in any second so we had a shower and got change in to our school uniform.

Geometry

In our class we have been learning to do Geometry. Geometry is the study of size,shape and position of 2D shape and 3D figure .

We have been making tan-gram and 3D figure out of paper . We take some picture and it will be showing at the bottom . We have done lots of 3D figure and 2D drawing . 2D and 3D are different to each other because 3D is full seen and 2D is flat.

Taonga Time

In our school, Taonga Time is a very great activity for our year 7 and 8’s. We get to do lots of fun stuff and learn lots of new things .Taonga Time means Treasure in Maori.

In Taonga Time we have different groups like the , KapaHaka ,Sport , Music , Team building , Art, Science and Technology. I am in sport which is taken by Ms Va’afusu’aga . We always do lots of different and fun sport like rugby, touch,soccer and others.

Every Friday we have Taonga Time and it was an awesome idea to do because it is very fun .I cant wait till next Taonga Time because it is going to be amazing !

On Thursday, Room 22 had a fun time learning to do some netball skills with a netball teacher named Emma.

Our first activity was drills, three dynamic stretches we had high knees, grape vine and butt kick.
Our second skill was learning to do our passing. We were going to learn how to do three different passes. Our first passing step was bouncing the ball from the ground to the other person. Our second step was the chest pass we had to pass the ball with a w on our hand and pass the ball toward our friend chest. Our third step was the overhead pass. We had to imagine that some was at the front of us blocking and we had to pass the ball over to our team mate.

Our last fun drill of the day was a game. We were divided into two groups, the bibs against the
non-bibs. It was a petty hard match and fast game but at the end the non bib team won 3 -1.

At netball I had a super fun time doing some drills and I can’t wait till next time.

Creativity

In room 22 we have been learning about Creativity. Creativity is making new and awesome stuff by using our ideas and imagination. For our first task we had to write our name by being creative.For example this is my name that I created .

My Term 1 Reflection

On the first term of school I was really overjoyed with my DLO result, I got 16/16. My report was different because I used to get bad reports but this report was good. I am really proud of myself and I hope to do the same this term!

The thing I need to improve in is my writing because I’m not really good at it and I am not were I have to be in my writing. I am trying hard to get better and I will do everything I need to do to get 3 great excellence for my writing.

Well, my term was amazing and I can wait to do some more fun and awesome stuff this term.
